ABSTRACT

The Design of New Students Admission Application Program on MTs Margaharja by Using Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0

Nowadays the development of computers is growing very fast, its use is widespread throughout the country. This is due to the speed and completeness in data processing, where processing, completeness, accuracy and computation and data processing take very important role. MTs Margaharja requires the application programs that support the admission of new students in order to improve the effectiveness of work and generate the information of new student report quickly, precisely and accurately.

Data processing systems that used today are computerized, but applications that use only limited to Microsoft Word and Excel that its use is very limited to save data accurately. While the processing of students’ data in an educational institution is the important factor that must be taken to ensure that existing data are saved securely.

To overcome the problem, the author designed a program of data processing applications in computerized admission of new students so that expected can improve the effectiveness of work, generate new student report information quickly, precisely, accurately and safely. To design a new student application program, the author makes the design input that contains the registration process of new students, the new student selection process that will be taken from a new student test scores, the data processing and the output of the data to produce the draft of report of new students admissions per year. Therefore this application program is the best solution to solve the problems that occur in the committee of new student admissions of Mts Margaharja.

ABSTRACT

Traffic lights are lights that are used to adjust the smoothness of traffic on a road junction. Because of its function is so important, the traffic lights should be controlled with as easy as possible. Most of the traffic light controls at the moment are still using the timer and the lights already on the settings from scratch. It causes the operator is difficult to change the timing of traffic lights in each direction at all times. One solution to the problem is to design a traffic light controller using the computer program Visual Basic 6.0 with the flame of the lamp that can be changed at any time.

At this final project will be designed a traffic light control system, especially for the crossroads, using the computer program Visual Basic 6.0 and use the parallel port interfacing. The design is done by making a series that is packaged in a simulated machine / miniature. Then, designing the software as a controller that regulates the output signal on the parallel port and parallel port is linked to the traffic lights through the circuit. By setting the signal on the parallel port, the length of time and the condition of traffic lights can be set at any time. Control testing is done on a comparison of the length of time lights in accordance with the setting on the control program in real time, and comparison of conditions in the program controlling lights with lights on simulated machine conditions.

Test result from the comparison of the time and conditions of the flame between controllers with simulation machine program is the same according to the type of control selected. It can be concluded that the traffic light control system is proven to work well in a long time and conditions set lights, especially at the crossroads, although there are still many shortcomings. One of them is the control system is not equipped with a density sensor. Therefore it is necessary for the development of this controller is added the density sensor.
